Sick of Cellulite? Try Cellfina
Most of us have felt self-conscious wearing a bathing suit or shorts because of cellulite. At some point in their lives, almost 90% of women suffer from this dimpled flesh on their thighs, buttocks, and stomach. Even women who are otherwise fit have cellulite that they struggle to get rid of.
Despite the advancements in plastic surgery, cellulite still continues to be a veritable problem. Cellfina may be the answer we’ve been looking for.
Cellfina is an FDA-approved minimally invasive non-surgical procedure that treats unwanted cellulite deposits. Unlike other cellulite-removal techniques, Cellfina manipulates the architecture of the skin and targets the fat associated with cellulite dimpling.
Good Candidates for Cellfina
Appropriate candidates for Cellfina are between the ages of 20 and 60, have a stable weight, and have minimal skin laxity. They have occurrences of cellulite in the form of dimples on the skin. Cellfina is not recommended for people who have dimpled skin due to poor liposuction technique, patients on blood thinners, and patients who are older and have loose skin.
Cellulite dimples in the skin are caused by connective tissues called fibrous brands. They connect your skin to the tissues underneath it. These bands pull sections of skin downwards, causing the surrounding fat to bulge. Cellulite dimples are caused throughout the area as a result.
Cellfina is based on the concept of subcision, which is also used to treat depressed acne scars. The technology uses a needle-sized device to treat the fibrous bands. Dr. Lam marks out the cellulite dimples on your skin first and then administers a numbing agent.
After this is done, he uses the Cellfina handheld device to insert a microblade beneath your skin. The microblade is used for a stabilized guided subcision technique that is carried out in a fanning motion to release the connective bands under your skin. This causes the cellulite dimples to even out, allowing the skin to be smooth again.
The entire procedure takes about 45 minutes to complete. About 20 to 30 dimples may be treated in this time period. Minor temporary swelling and bruising occur as side-effects of the procedure and go away on their own.
The results can be observed as soon as three days in some cases and can go on to last up to three years.
Due to its non-invasive nature, those undergoing Cellfina treatment require little time to recover. General anesthesia is not administered during the procedure and the patient can begin to resume their normal activities 24 hours after the treatment has concluded.
It is recommended that compressive garments be worn for two weeks after the treatment. Exercise should be avoided for three to four days. Swimming and sun exposure should be steered clear of for at least a week until after the procedure.
The result is flat and even skin on your thighs and buttocks that allows you to feel less self-conscious in revealing clothing.
