AlluraDerm MD Med Spa is the TOP PROVIDER of JUVÉDERM® family of fillers in the state of New Mexico!
As we age, our skin loses its ability to retain moisture, loses flexibility and loses its ability to produce collagen. This loss of volume and sagging skin results in wrinkles, folds, loss of contour and hollowness. While surgical procedures have enabled women and men to look younger longer, it is only recently that non-surgical procedures have been able to have a dramatic effect on combating the signs of aging.
Skin fillers are injected into the skin to restore your youthful appearance by lifting and contouring your face, removing wrinkles and folds and filling in the shadows that make you look gaunt. They are relatively painless procedures and you can see the results instantly! At AlluraDerm MD Med Spa, we use only the safest, FDA-approved skin fillers to help patients achieve a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing appearance. The main skin fillers we use are the JUVÉDERM® family of fillers which is the industry’s leader in skin fillers. We also offer the Restylane® family of fillers which is the oldest family of skin fillers. At AlluraDerm MD Med Spa, we have developed our own proprietary techniques and injection strategies to achieve subtle but cosmetically pleasing results. We are very proud to announce that Dr. Lam is the number 1 provider of JUVÉDERM® family of fillers in New Mexico. JUVÉDERM®ULTRA XC or ULTRA PLUS XC
JUVÉDERM® is a skin filler that is used to add volume and hydration to aging skin. It is particularly effective in improving the appearance of wrinkles and folds. It is made from hyaluronic acid which is naturally present in healthy, youthful skin. You will notice a substantial reduction in facial lines and folds that can last up to one year. JUVÉDERM®ULTRA XC is also FDA-approved for lip augmentation!
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is the first and only injectable treatment that’s been FDA-approved to correct a loss of volume in the cheeks due to age. VOLUMA adds subtle, youthful-looking plumpness to the face, and the results of a single treatment can last for up to 2 years.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC
Imagine having plump youthful lips for up to a year! Well now you can. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® is FDA approved for injection into the lips for a subtle lip augmentation and for wrinkle correction around the mouth. What makes this product unique from other Dermal Fillers is its greater lift capacity due to more efficient cross-linking from the patented Vycross technology. AlluraDerm MD Medspa is proud to be the first to offer this treatment in New Mexico.
The Restylane family of fillers is used to smooth away wrinkles and folds (Restylane-L® and Restylane® Lyft), create fuller and more accentuated lips (Restylane-L® and Restylane® Silk), and add lift and volume to the cheeks (Restylane® Lyft). Restylane® Lyft was previously known as Perlane.

Dermal Fillers FAQ
Q: What Does A Dermal Filler Do?
A: Dermal fillers are administered to restore, enhance or transform your face. As we age, we lose volume and sag; dermal fillers can restore the volume and lift your face. Aging can also create folds, shadows and wrinkles that can be improved with dermal fillers. They can also enhance balance and harmony in your appearance by opening up your eyes, lifting your face, augmenting your lips and defining your jaw line and more. Dermal fillers can remove years from your appearance and create the face you have always wanted. Unfortunately, too many injectors have created aesthetically unpleasing results, which have flooded the media. At AlluraDerm, our physicians are the #1 providers of Juvéderm family of fillers in New Mexico. We pride ourselves in natural, aesthetically pleasing, outcomes.
Q: What Are Dermal Fillers?
A: Dermal fillers are a group of gel substances used in facial aesthetics to contour, add volume or lift areas where wrinkles and folds have appeared, due to aging and environmental effects. At AlluraDerm, the dermal fillers we use are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which naturally occurs in our skin and joints to hydrate and lubricate. This means they are safer, have less risk of allergic reaction, and can be dissolved, if needed.
At AlluraDerm we only use trusted and reputable dermal fillers that are FDA approved with high safety profiles. These include: Restylane, Juvéderm and Merz products. These are the most scientifically documented HA based dermal fillers in the world, with comprehensive studies that support their safety and efficacy. Juvéderm family of fillers in particular is the #1 filler in the U.S.A. AlluraDerm is the #1 provider of Juvéderm family of fillers in New Mexico.
Q: What Areas Can Be Treated?
A: Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and enhance facial contours. Common areas include: Cheeks, chin, nose to mouth lines (nasolabial folds), lips (down-turned lips, or enhancing volume and shape). Other areas may also be treated. The physicians at AlluraDerm administer more Juvéderm (#1 filler in the U.S.A.) than any other provider in the state. They can help you achieve your goals.
Q: When Will I See Results?
A: You will see results instantly; however, there may be slight, temporary swelling. Juvéderm and Restylane attract water, bringing hydration to the area. This leads to fresh, revitalized skin.
Q: How Long wWill The Effects Last?
A: Dermal Fillers are long-lasting but not permanent. They can last up to 24 months; this will vary depending on the individual, product used and area being treated. Juvéderm typically lasts about one year and Voluma can last up to two years. Restylane family of products typically does not last as long as the Juvéderm family of products and attracts less water than Juvéderm. The physicians at AlluraDerm will help you decide which of the FDA approved fillers are best to achieve your goals.
Q: Aren’t All Dermal Fillers Basically The Same?
A: No. Dermal fillers have properties that are specifically formulated for different outcomes. Some dermal fillers are designed to produce lift, some are formulated to treat delicate lines, some attract a lot of water, and some do not. At AlluraDerm our physicians are experts, strategically administering the right fillers, in the right amount, in the right areas to give you the best results. That is why AlluraDerm is #1.
Q: Will I Look Unnatural After Treatment?
A: Our ethos at AlluraDerm is to make you “look your best”. We will only administer what is needed to achieve a natural, aesthetically pleasing outcome. We never want our patients to look “overdone”. Each patient is an individual and each treatment is unique. We customize our treatments using our proprietary techniques to meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide you with a healthier, more refreshed appearance. That is why AlluraDerm is #1.
Q: Will It Hurt?
A: Dermal Fillers are injections and can be slightly uncomfortable. At AlluraDerm a proprietary numbing cream will be applied to the area to aid in your comfort. In addition, the dermal fillers administered at AlluraDerm contain a local anesthetic to further minimize discomfort. Dr. Lam was an associate professor in anesthesiology; our physicians are very concerned about your comfort and well-being.
Q: How Long Will It Take?
A: After your consultation, the treatment can take up to 40 minutes; this includes time for the numbing cream to activate. The amount of time required may vary depending on the amount of filler used, underlying pathology and your goals.
Q: What Are The Side Effects?
A: Short-term side effects can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These can be relieved with a cold compress, Tylenol and arnica cream, if you have no allergies to these. Lips can be particularly sensitive and swelling may last a few days. There is no evidence to-date of any long-term safety concerns associated with dermal filler treatment, as the body naturally metabolizes the product over time.
Q: What Are The Risks?
A: As with any injection, there is risk of infection. The physicians at AlluraDerm are fanatical about infection prevention and have never had a case of infection. There is also risk of a severe allergic reaction; this is extremely rare. Dr. Lam, a previous associate professor in Anesthesiology, has trained many physicians how to respond to this emergency, should it occur. Another rare but serious complication is the blockage of blood vessels, leading to ischemia. This is not often talked about, however, we discuss this with our patients. It is extremely rare but can lead to blindness or “skin death ”. At AlluraDerm we have a protocol to address this event, should it occur. We take this risk very seriously and have a 24-hour emergency phone number. Since our inception in 2007 we have not had a case of blindness or “skin death”.
